We had the pleasure of catching the beautiful Bajan songstress Shontelle on Good Day New York the other morning. We felt like proud parents, as we watched her belt out her new single “Impossible” (be sure to purchase it on itunes). Especially since Shontelle will be UNVOGUE’s cover girl for our 2nd annual Music Issue.

Ethiopian model, maternal health advocate, clothing designer and actress Liya Kebede started her sustainable women and children’s collection Lemlem in 2007 as a way to inspire economic independence in her native country of Ethiopia in order to preserve then dieing ancient art form of hand-weaving, which for many women in Ethiopia is the main source of providing for their families.
Today, Lemlem (which means to flourish or bloom in Amharic) is thriving.
